It would appear that search and rescue teams have found downed Asia Air flight QZ8501, which went missing over the Java Sea, and now they’re pulling bodies from the water. For those of us that are frequent yet terrified travelers, this is just another example of how flying is ridiculous and we should never ever leave the house. If not that, then we should certainly never fly around Malaysia.
Because while the Air Asia missing flight was found relatively quickly, complete with floating bodies actually aired on Indonesian television, Malaysian Air flight 370 is still missing! Are we just going to forget about Flight 370? Where the hell is everyone on 370? It’s been 10 months.
I think Flight 370 crashed in the Indian Ocean which is much bigger and deeper than the Java Sea, and all of those on board are tragically dead. What I refuse to comprehend, however, is how we can’t find a f****** airplane. I was kinda hoping that Flight 370 would pop up in the search for QZ8501, because if I were one of those on Flight 370, I’d be pissed that everyone forgot about me. I’d also be pissed that my flight had less tracking capability than a Nokia flip phone. Any commercial airplane that remains within the Earth’s atmosphere should be findable in seconds, whether it’s crashed or taken a detour or under attack. Duh.
In related news, this is still the most terrifying airplane crash I’ve ever heard of. And I follow them all.
